It’s not only the scientists of the Montserrat Volcano Observatory who keep a close eye on the activity of Soufrière Hills Volcano. All Montserratians have become extremely knowledgeable and conscious about the behaviour of the volcano.
Sharing this knowledge is a really important way that we improve understanding of how volcanoes work, and how they impact communities.
Keep The Faith (Zunky 'n Dem)
Keep The Faith
‘To cope with this dread imposter / We had to learn its vocabulary
Just to understand all the details / That the scientists tell to me
Like earthquake swarms brought by the tremors / And hot pyroclastic flows
All kinds of seismic events / That each Montserratian now knows’
