The incandescent dome of Soufrière Hills was a spectacle many Montserratians enjoyed watching at night in the early days of the eruption.
Glowing
‘Sat in the moonlight / And we watched the mountain glow
In the moonlight from Harris Hill
Incandescent Rocks broke away / Creating fireworks display
It was really quite a thrill
Something that could be dangerous / So beautiful
It didn’t seem right to make a fuss / Our joys were full
I told my mind snap a picture
I want to hold this scene forever
It was just glowing
Glowing
Glowing
And glowing
Mountain aglow
Can we go watch the mountain glow
Mountain aglow’

That was our night out! Especially when it’s moonlight and everything is nice and clear. So many nights we came as the sun set watching the mountain glow. Yes we did so much of that, people bring out their blankets and their chairs and just, late into the night we watched the mountain glowing until the clouds came over and covered of the dome. We did a lot of that.

Volcano When You Gonna Stop
‘You’re beautiful / So wonderful
Especially at night
Seeing the mountain glow / Oh what a show’
